What Your Visit Really Supports
Respect Comes First
Elephants are sentient beings — emotional, social, and wise. That’s why we never force them to perform or interact. Every visit is built around their freedom, not our schedule.
Natural Life, Natural Moments
Here, elephants roam freely through forests, nap in the shade, roll in mud, and bathe in clean mountain water. You’ll walk beside them — not behind a rope — and witness who they really are.
Your Visit Helps More Than You Know
When you book a tour with us, you’re doing more than joining a sanctuary visit. You’re helping us care for our herd and support the community we call home.
Every Booking Directly Supports:
- Ongoing elephant rescue & lifetime care
- Salaries and housing for our mahouts & staff
- Local school lunches & hill-tribe community programs

Our Promise To Elephants
Every elephant here lives free — no chains, no riding, no tricks. Just elephants being elephants — loved, respected, and finally at peace.

Meet Our Elephants
Our Chiang Mai elephant sanctuary is home to 13 elephants — including 4 baby elephants who were born here and are now growing up safely with their herd. Each elephant has been rescued from difficult pasts and now lives freely in our care. Visiting us means supporting an ethical elephant experience in Chiang Mai, where you can see happy elephants, learn their stories, and witness true family bonds in a natural sanctuary setting.

NAM CHOKE – AGE: 11 YEARS OLD - (MALE)
Nam Choke is one of the youngest elephants at our sanctuary, and his journey reflects both the challenges many elephants face in Thailand and the hope that compassionate care can bring. Taken from his mother at a very young age, he spent his early years in a trekking camp where he was used for tourist rides. Like many juvenile elephants in the tourism industry, he endured long working hours, limited rest, and little opportunity to behave naturally or form healthy social bonds.
Since being rescued and brought to Elephant Rescue Park, Nam Choke has blossomed into a confident, curious young bull. He loves splashing in the water, exploring the forest, and eagerly approaching visitors during feeding time. His playful personality often makes him the first to investigate new enrichment activities, and he has formed close friendships with several other elephants in the herd.
Today, Nam Choke enjoys a peaceful life filled with freedom, safety, and proper nutrition — a world away from his difficult beginnings. By sponsoring Nam Choke, you directly support his ongoing care and help ensure he continues to grow into a strong, healthy adult in a truly ethical environment.
SHABU – AGE: 11 YEARS OLD (MALE)
Shabu is a gentle young elephant whose early life was shaped by hardship, uncertainty, and the pressures of the tourism industry. Taken from his mother far too young, he was raised in an environment where he was expected to perform for visitors and follow strict routines that left little room for natural behaviour. Like many elephants used for entertainment, Shabu experienced long days, limited rest, and minimal opportunities to form healthy social bonds or explore freely.
Since arriving at Elephant Rescue Park, Shabu has undergone a remarkable transformation. With patient care, proper nutrition, and the freedom to move at his own pace, he has grown into a calm, affectionate elephant who enjoys spending time with both his herd and the people who care for him. He loves slow walks through the forest, splashing in the river, and relaxing in the shade during the warm afternoons. His gentle nature makes him especially popular with visitors during feeding and enrichment activities.
Today, Shabu is thriving in a safe, ethical environment where he is respected and protected. Sponsoring Shabu directly supports his ongoing care and helps ensure he continues to live a peaceful, dignified life surrounded by compassion.

MAE NOI – AGE: 49 YEARS OLD (FEMALE)
Mae Noi is a gentle, wise elephant whose life tells a story of resilience and quiet strength. For many years, she worked in the tourism industry, carrying heavy saddles and transporting visitors on long, exhausting treks. Like many elephants used for riding, Mae Noi endured repetitive labour, limited rest, and little opportunity to express her natural behaviours. The physical strain of these years left her with lasting discomfort, and the emotional toll of separation from her family was equally profound.
Since being rescued and brought to Elephant Rescue Park, Mae Noi has finally found the peace and dignity she always deserved. She spends her days wandering slowly through the forest, dusting herself with soft earth, and enjoying long, relaxing baths in the river. Her calm, nurturing personality has made her a favourite among visitors, and she often acts as a steady, reassuring presence for younger elephants in the herd.
Mae Noi now lives a life free from exploitation, surrounded by compassionate care, proper nutrition, and the freedom to choose how she spends each day. Sponsoring Mae Noi directly supports her ongoing recovery and ensures she continues to enjoy a safe, ethical, and loving environment.
Every elephant here has a story — one of survival, healing, and a second chance at life.
As you walk beside them, our guides will share their journeys and the moments that brought them home.
